Genesis Energy appoints General Manager Corporate Affairs

Genesis Power Limited, trading as Genesis Energy, announced today the appointment of Dean Schmidt to the position of General Manager Corporate Affairs.

Mr Schmidt will join the Company from Television New Zealand Ltd, where he had been Head of Corporate Affairs. He was formerly Group Corporate Affairs Manager for New Zealand Post Group and, before then, Head of Government and Community Relations at Telecom New Zealand Ltd.

In the role of General Manager Corporate Affairs, Mr Schmidt will lead an existing Corporate Affairs team responsible for government relations, regulatory affairs, public affairs and community investment.

Genesis Energy’s Chief Executive, Albert Brantley, said he was pleased to appoint a candidate with the experience and breadth of skills of Mr Schmidt.

Mr Schmidt replaces Malcolm Alexander who joined Local Government New Zealand as Chief Executive.
