Advanced Meter for trade
At Genesis Energy, we like to make life easier for our customers. That’s why we’ve introduced new metering technology that will enable us to provide an improved metering service plus a range of tailored products and services.
So what is an Advanced Meter?
An Advanced Meter is an electricity meter with a wireless communications kit which enables us to take meter reads from back at the office, so there’ll be no need for meter readers to drop by the property.
A thing or two you should know
With an Advanced Meter, your customers will say goodbye to estimated reads, estimated bills, and visits from meter readers.^ It means that your customers will receive bills that are based on their property’s actual usage every month, So they’ll only be billed for what the meter tells us they’ve used. And, if you’re a builder, that goes for your builders temporary supply costs too. What’s more, you won’t have the hassle of site visits for final reads as you can now choose to have your final read taken remotely.*
If you’re building a property, you can place the Advanced Meter anywhere on the outside of the building, even out the back, giving you more design flexibility. We recommend the following standard meter board dimensions to ensure both the Advanced Meter, main switch and possible load control relays are suitably housed. To allow good mechanical, thermal, electrical and improved communications properties PVC meter boxes are preferred.
| Supply Typ | Advanced Meter Allowance Tariff dependant) | Advanced Meter Dimensions (LxWxD | Recommended Board Dimensions (LxWxD) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Single Phase Supply | One or two element meter and relay | 212mm x 134mm x 75mm | 450mm x 450mm x 210mm |
| Dual Phase Supply | 3 Phase Meter and Relay | 213mm x 130mm x 110mm | 450mm x 450mm x 210mm |
| Three Phase Supply | 3 phase meter, single phase meter and relay | 290mm x 175mm x 95mm> | 600mm x 400mm x 210mm |
And, as with all new technology, we’ll be adding more features in the future so your customers can get the most out of their Advanced Meter.
But the best thing is that Genesis Energy’s Advanced Meter doesn’t cost any more or take any longer to install than the old ones, so everything will be smooth as.
